i am pasupathi, from Tuticorin. i always used to stich from you. first from near the 2nd gate tailor shop downstairs, then near the 2nd gate upstairs, then when you moved to the Subramaniyan Kovil mahamai kattidam, near Sivan kovil. i always admired your stitch. and fit. and quality dresses that u had for me. i still use many NST pants, shirts. thanks for being a wonderful artisan. i will again come to you - when i visit tuticorin, my home town. i worked in Indian Air force for 20 years went to various parts of north india, now i am at BHEL ranipet.

Without evidence you can kill, maim, infect an enemy.

Example: London Death of a Moscow/Russian/KGB Spy who became a double mole, dangerously injuring Vladimir Putin. It is rumored that Putin ordered the "Kill" of this ex-KGB spy, who knew more and he was killed by Radiation contaminated hand kerchief, at a Restaurant with another present day KGB spy.

Same lines, Annaji is also in danger now from our own agencies like RAW, IB whose top echelons are kowtowing to Sonia, Pranab, Congress.

I like daily thanthi.
But this paper insists on download of Tamil Font to read the online paper.
Cant do so at my office.
So at my office i am not able to read this paper through google news site.
Unfortunately most of the news.google.com news aggregates are for Daily Thanthi in Tamil.
Appealed to news.google.com to post only UNICODE TAMIL UTF-8 font supported tamil news sites in the news sources hyperlink at www.news .google.com
this way, i can read Tamil even at office, no need to download font and read tamil news.
Daily Thanthi people should realise it is high time they changed the font to world standard - that is UTF-8 Tamil Unicode font.
that way they can retain online viewers of tamil news.
i think due to this small issue, many people are forced to love, read other papers like Dinakaran, Dinamani, Dinamalar etc....
But tamil.webdunia.com and tamil.oneindia.com sites also provide very fast, good, easily readable format tamil news in unicode.
Also nakkeeran.com and many other lankan tamil sites are good for tamil news.
Hope this blog will change the mindset of Daily Thanthi people and provide LOCAL TAMIL NEWS in unicode.

saw 7th sense by Soorya, Sarika, Udhayanidhi.
i think we tamils expect too much from normal - not so great directors.

yes, the movie is historical - but the History is not well told.
even Discovery Channel or History Channel can tell this story of Tamil Pallava King in a better way.

Soorya also didnt seem to put in "too great work" as it is portrayed by expectations and media.
simple, easy movie.

Fight scenes the more work done. That shows the only improvement Tamil Cinema has seen.
Anyhow not bad. Could have been better.

Music full flop. not even 1 song is memorable.

Like a wall you stood against neo-imperialism, US, UK & Europes' never quenching desire to rule over oil rich countries & the "National Interest" by which they dictate terms all over the World.

"New World Order", "World Police" and so many words. But all boils down to one thing : that Americans are bound to disturb your Life - wherever you live on this planet.

தொண்டைமண்டலத் திரையர் முதலிய வேளாளர்கள் தொடர்பாலும், பாஞ்சாத்ர வைணவத் தொடர்பாலும், புத்த சமயத் தாக்கத்தாலும் ஆய்வேளிர்கள் வேளாளர்குலப் பெண்டிரைத் திருமணம் செய்யும் வழக்கம் உருவாகியிருக்கலாம்.

வேணாட்டுச் சமூக அமைப்பில் மறக்குல அகம் படியர்களும் வேளாளர் சாதிக் குழுவினரும் இணைந்து கலந்ததோடு,...

Nice to see Thiru Annamalai after 31 years.

That is during 1980, i was on 4th standard annual leave i came here, to visit my Chithappa, Chithi.

That day Actress "Fatafat" suicided herself by hanging or Shoba? exactly i dont remember.
That news paper we read at Chithappa's home the day we reached Thiruvannamalai.

I clearly remember visiting the Temple, especially agasht at the 1000 kal mandapam - and amazed to see
the inside of the 1000 pillar mandapam - some warned me not to go inside, as we may loose the way out.

Also on memory was the Yellow Mango coin collector - the savings bank hundi - which Chithi bought me at a shop outside the Temple.

This time, i recorded all my memories on my Sony Camera. and some more Historic details as given below:

Temple is STAR shaped. so, you walk along the triangular sides to reach the center. no one is allowed inside the Golden Temple. full of RBI certified gold bars, plates used. with bill. some pay Rs.250 to go near the Amman. but even they can not touch the Golden Walls.

Sripuram Sri Narayani Amman Temple is fully made of Gold, and it is surrounded with water....
my daughter asked, "Can we take bath in the water?" - it is not possible.
In Punjab Golden Temple, Amritsar, people take bath at the sagar around the mandhir.
it is sad that such water world experience not available at Sri Puram.

Yet to read this book. But, The Hindu article on this book made me think that this is a Genuine Book - aimed at making true the fact that Mahatma is after all, like Today's Congress Party : Absolutely Lying a lot ....

Even Gandhi's own book "My Experiments with Truth" did not say about his later life of Love with a married Bengali Woman : Sarla Devi - of which we come to know ONLY from Rajmohan Gandhi - his Grandson.
No doubt, Gandhi was brutally open about his experiments with celibacy — including a wet dream in his late 60s! — but, as his grandson, Rajmohan, has revealed, he did not write about his passion for Sarladevi Chaudhri, around which, Rajmohan suggests, “Eros too might have lurked”. So it’s possible Gandhi also kept quiet about Kallenbach.

Mahatma stayed at her Lahore residence in 1919 when her Punjabi husband Rambhuj Dutt Chowdhary was in jail.
She was probably the only woman leader in Bengal's militant nationalist movement.

"Saraladevi'scompany is very endearing. She looks after me very well."

Rajmohan further adds that "the following months saw a special relationship that Gandhi called 'indefinable' after its character changed in June 1920. In between he had not only overcome his caution regarding exclusive relationships but even thought of a 'spiritual marriage', whatever that may have meant, with Saraladevi.

Here are some quotes from Gandhi's letter to Sarala dated May 2,1920:
"You will continue to haunt me in my sleep. No wonder that Panditji ( Rambhuj Dutt ,Sarala's husband)calls you the greatest shakthi. You may cast the spell over him.You are performing the same trick over me"

Professor Datta, who has been researching Gandhi and Sarala's relationship for a while mentions to TheTribune, "There is no doubt that Gandhi was drawn to her and dazzled by her, this is mentioned by both Rajmohan and Martin.

At that time she was 47 and he was 50 years of age. From October 1919 to March 1920, Gandhi stayed in Lahore and she later visited Sabarmati several times.

There was much talk of their relationship, whisperings, innuendos, etc and this relationship was terminated by the efforts of Devdas Gandhi, Mahadev Desai and especially Rajagopalachari in June 1920, when the latter sent a letter to Mahatma Gandhi, asking him to hold back."

Datta adds, "And what of Sarala, she was really an independent-minded woman who wanted to know where she stood with Gandhi in her relationship with him. She later complained that she gave up her prestige, her social responsibilities, and moral traditions but for what. She possibly wanted a marital relationship and some legality to what they shared and did not want to be a stooge or a guinea pig or a cat's paw and she wanted a clear space for herself in his life and she was utterly uncompromising on this."

“She was the hostess where he stayed. Her husband was in prison at the time. During those few months in the early 1920’s, Gandhi fell for Saraladevi in a big way. However, he broke the relationship. There was an aesthetic element in that relationship and might even have been a mild erotic element too. There was an emotional element in the relationship. But Gandhi’s own reflections aided by very strong words from his son (my father), from his secretary Mahadev Desai and from the future father-in law of his son, C Raja Gopalachari, who wrote a strong letter, only made Gandhi realise that he was on the wrong track. This year it is a very dumb squib show.

Microsoft sponsored the show.

It has a Big Stall also just at the Entrance.
But no crowd there. Nothing interesting there.

In contrast, the Apple i-phone, i-pod, i-pad stall is full of people.
Impressed with APPLE Technologies....

But the only problem is, all thing Apple is expensive. upmarket. bound to one operator.
for example, the i-phone is running only on AirTel. you can't change to 3G on TATA DOCOMO.

Google Android is a good competitor to Apple.
That is welcome show in Samsung Galaxy Tab.

So, the verdict is : Comp-Ex 2011 Nagpur show is not that enthralling.

India's Minister for Environment & Forests had spoken rightly on Fuel Guzzelers.
He is on the dot - because in India, Diesel is subsidized by Govt.

He is HALF RIGHT - certainly not a Buffoon. He is concerned about environment, emissions.
But a cursory look at the comparison chart of SUV/MUV & Sedans tilts the

COMFORT
SAFETY
ADVENTURE
SPORTS
THRILL
VALUE

towards the SUV.

Advantages of SUV/MUV and Station Wagons	Disadvantage of Sedans, mini Cars, Hatch backs, Coupes, Convertibles
High Safety – as it is TALL BOY design, so after head on impact also the driver, passengers are safe – as any SUV looks like a mini Lorry.	Never high on safety – because of the aero dynamic low hung chassis, which is dangerous on head on collisions on any object, be it a Tree or opposite Car etc.
Travel, Tour comfort for long, arduous drive.	Unsuitable for long drives, even though it is used for long drives – basically Sedans are unfit for long drives and adventurous rides.
Chair type normal seating posture – the lumbar joints and nerves are better placed, natural sitting posture, long drive friendly sitting posture.	Bucket shaped sears make you to sit uncomfortably for long hours. Stress, strain

Good read, Easy read, Racy read.....
in some ways, an UnPutDownable book - if u like Analysis.
Irony, that this read coincides with Diwali.

Pentagon Press is nowhere to be connected or related to American Pentagon - it is just a New Delhi paisa making press body
LOST VICTORY - apt name for EELAM or TAMIL RIGHTS & DEVOLUTION of POWER was almost Guaranteed 100% by Rajiv Gandhi - Jayawardene agreement and many Subsequent peace talks...all was lost because of Prabakaran's delay in arriving at Peace...
At many places of the book, this Major General just reprints Prabakaran as Hon. V. Prabakaran...that itself shows Prabakaran was a True Leader - not a Terrorist. [The Author could have deleted the "Honorable Tag"....but he just CUT and PASTED from Wikipedia....hi....hi....]
TAMIL SOLDIERs - their discipline, intelligence, innovation, marksmanship is praised.
Most of the Book's contents were simply "lifted" from the Wikipedia....
Wikipedia and its wikis do not have any authorship or ownership - advantage plagiarists
"Veddas" - "Vedars" - "Veddhars" are the oldest inhabitants of Sri Lanka - aborigines....

Tuticorin Kathiresan Pillai, Colombo educated, richie rich once upon a time, passed away this morning 0300 am.
Bereaved family is my Fathers last sister [5th] Parvathi Athai, her daughters Tamil Isai Selvi [USA], Valli Nayagi enra Anandhi [Chennai].

Kathiresan Mama was son of a Rich man from Colombo. I do not know much about his Forefathers...
But heard that his mother had Kilograms of Gold at home, over her...all due to the Colombo earnings...

Once upon a time Sri Lanka was such Good for Tamil Pillais, now i do not know about the conditions.
Kathiresan Pillai was totally educated in Colombo, I remember seeing his Colombo College pictures...

His Parents came to India, never to go back...
Lastly, I remember his Dad selling all the wealth to pittance...for a livelihood...

and maintaining a Temple at Madurai....he died with the Temple....
Kathiresan Uncle retired as a Bank Manager Indian Overseas Bank, a bank revered for its Colombo connections....

downloaded and checked many anti spyware, anti malware programs...
all removal methods ask money from us...

easy Removal method, which i did to myself for satisfaction is:-
open 192.168.1.1 from ur browser

change the DNS settings of your router.
ask the DNS entries of ur ISP - and input it here.

change the default password for ur router also. for safety.
restart the router - the ADSL modem - after saving the config.

even after that, if your local BSNL DNS servers are affected with this spyware,
then use Google DNS servers or Open DNS servers for SAFETY.

this can be set in at your Local Area Connection settings
- set ur DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as Primary and Secondary DNS at the LAN card.

Inconveniences of Windows 7 : Absurdities of Windows 7

Had the previlege of running Windows 7 for a month.
While the Installation was a breeze, there were many nagging issues - inconveniences which makes
Windows 7 sour in mouth.

Windows 7 asks "Do you want to do this?" "Do you want to say Yes?" - like this confirmation boxes for all the things in Control Panel.....makes one wary of using this OS - am i owner of my PC or slave?
All the Control Panel things are hidden inside many panels or many of the administrative tasks require one to click more than 3 - 4 widgets to reach - where we want to go...
example : To know IP number of PC, in XP, u need to double click the "Local Area Connection Status" indicator on the System Tray - and u got it at the Support Tab. That's all.
But the same task in Windows 7 requires one to click this, that and that - this....Whew!.....
Diseases that crippled Vista - still lingers in Windows 7
Green Progress Bar that fills the Address Bar of the Explorer - so Stupid - u need to see this all the time even for small tasks such opening a CD Rom, opening My Docs etc. In Win XP, the explorer opened very fast.
Quicker the Windows 7 is made easy for Home Users and Professionals, better the feel is.
IE 8, needless to say lost before the Firefox - there is no hope that IE9 will win - because Firefox addresses the concerns of the Users - not the Concerns of the Corporates.
My Verdict : Other than the Graphic Somersaults, Windows 7 fails to impress.
Till that, Windows XP SP3 Jindabad!

UTF-8 Unicode Tamil writing on web : Issues, Concerns, Damages

For men of his salt, we all love our mother tongue.
Be it Hindi or Tamil or any Indian Languages, the UTF-8 Unicode structure is pathetic and serious issues can crop up later.

PROBLEM 1: One horror story I want to post here : The Blog Post Tags - only 200 words separated by comma can be used as tags in www.Blogger.com - for all blogspot accounts.

The same 200 words in English when converted to UTF-8 unicode tamil, hardly few words you can add as Tags because each Tamil Letter is converted in to a lengthy ENGLISH - ROMAN code and HEXA NUMBERS in unicode system.

So, if you add anything in TAMIL in the Google Blogspot Tags, the computer says - "Only 200 words you can add as search tags" - so all TAMIL or HINDI tags are cut short - so as to reduce the word count in UTF-8

PROBLEM 2: The TITLE tag is never shown in Firefox Browser or IE browser in TAMIL or HINDI.
The TITLE tag in the HTML UTF-8 is making mockery of the செம்மொழி தமிழ் - one of the Oldest Classical Language living still. And to add to the horror, so many Tamil, Indian, Hindi Software Engineers work day and night in USA, UK, Europe - all eat and sleep well - never thought to eradicate this TWO laugably little annoyances to improve the Visibility & Respect of our Mother Tongue.

We need to download pdf files of big size, esp. e-books, research thesis, phd dessertation type
or paper back size.

We dont want pdf files of small size, say - a speech at a seminar.
so, pls add this FILE SIZE bigger than 3MB 4MB - in the Google advanced search.

As we are able to search images by Image Size, the pdf files also should be able to be searched by file sizes - which indicates the amount of data in it. i need to read big books - most of the seminar pdfs i already downloaded and read.

James Cameroon, an Epic Director.
With lot of hype, and a nose broken Oscar [only 3 Oscars], and a lot of background noises, I went to see the film with much expectations.

But, compared to the emotion, drama, goose bumps of Titanic & Abyss - where public in theater used to cry, houl, shout and grumble along with the movie...

Frankly, the movie is high on Graphics, Technology - but a bit low on emotions.
Yes, no one cried at the Theater, including me.

That itself is a testimony to the fact that though the movie satisfies on all other departments, it failed to connect us with the N'avis - the film races through the story well, the glowing phosphoric, psychedelic atmosphere...

Relevance : Deforestation, Green Movement, Save Earth, Save Tribals, Save Trees, Vedanta, Orissa, Global Warming, Doomsday predictions, Finding New Planets, Migrating to Another Planet..

Film is most Relevant and may become a imaginable future soon.

Chennai Life Style Problems :

No Tarred roads or concrete roads till your home
Drainage system worst in the world
No Rain Water drain system
Even main roads are not having clean rain water drain surface
Puddles, Sand, Jalli, Shit, Garbage on the roads - all the time, round the clock
Even rich, posh localities have poor access roads
Broken Roads, stones all around
Small roads at most of the places
Encroachments @ both sides of the Roads - undisciplined people
Forget walking back home with Clean Slippers, Shoes....

It was an Olympian Effort....

Raj could reach the venue, at 09.20 am....for he always had reserve time to meet any eventuality - a border line cynic
- that Raj Kundra is, saved much events from FIASCO and DISASTER - thanks to his ++ buffer stock of time ahead of the SHARP time.

Plumes of People....in that piercing rain....braved the rain....for that flicker of hope to clear the badly needed Pay Band 2....
Officials, the Bureaucrats, who usually are brain*less, now a days show a Streak of Ingenuity -

The ID Number - Hall Number - Notice was in BIG - FLEX - PRINTING - Oh My God! again cooed Raj Kundra....
At least it was on Flex Board, people could see the Water Proof Printing...and happily reach to their designated rooms with out confusion...

Exam went well, Raj answered well, like many of his counter parts....
But the sad end of the Story is, most of the people who are invited to write the exam, were not through the cut off marks,

and there are Rumors flying thick and fast, that again the famous Job for Money Scam has visited the Exams, and this MASS SHOW
is just a way to accrure more money to line the pockets of the Phoard Officials.....

the culprit is your Firewall. Antivirus.
it will not allow LG pc suite autorun as CD exe file.

also, it will disconnect the LG PC suite in between the file txr.
so, better disable the Avast! firewall and all other shields, till u r done with ur USB file transfers.

esp. the Avast interferes with Transcend external USB drive also.
Avast must send us some updates, or at least they should allow the program access at the setting tab of the firewall.

which is hard to find - or not existent in the Avast 5.0.594 home free edition.

All the 5 sides of the STAR shaped prakaram of the temple has so many shops...selling Amman photos, CDs, DVDs, books, videos, pooja utensils, pooja items. you can clearly say it is a Bhakti Tourism.
